Emma made a year on January 12th, and I forgot to post her stats. She is now, or was on January 17th, the date of her checkup, 21 lbs. 4ozs. and 29 1/2 inches tall, with a head circumference of 18 1/2 inches. All else is well. She continues to take allergy medicine unfortunately, but like the doctor says, it's better to take allergy medicine than it is to get recurring sinus infections, and have to take antibiotics. We have tried to stop the allergy meds, but her allergy symptoms have always returned. She also had to have her one year shots (actually a combination of her 12 month and 15 month shots all at once, and her flu shot). She got 6 shots that day. She was a really brave girl, and only cried while she was getting the shots. Mommy and Grandma, on the other hand, took a little longer to get over the trauma of watching their baby girl get stuck so many times (not that they actually cried). :)
We had her birthday party on January 14th. Thanks to all who came and made it a special day. (Susan was really happy to get to socialize with adults for a change.) Emma has enjoyed playing with all of her new toys, and most of them are in her play area right now. When I get the pictures edited, I will post them.
Emma and Susan have also started a Parent and Tot play time at Northshore Center for Artistic Gymnastics, the gym where Susan was teaching before Emma was born. They have really enjoyed it.
The other big news is that she is getting closer to walking. She has been cruising for quite a while now, and recently has started letting go, and taking a few steps. In the last few days, she has taken 5 or 6 steps pretty well before she has sat down and crawled. It is only a matter of time now before we never get to stop chasing her.
I will post pictures sometime soon. I have a bit that needs editing, and will try to get to them in the near future.
