On Saturday the 16th I took part in a nature photoshoot with the Louisiana Birdfest. We went to the Pine Island Rookery just west of Madisonville, and spent a couple of hours taking pictures. I was lucky enough to get to use a 600mm lens for some of that. Some pictures I took with that lens can be found at: http://hfwilke1.blogspot.com. I will also add some landscapes taken that day after I have had time to process them.
I do have some new pictures of Emma, but have not gotten a chance to process them yet. I will post them as soon as I have a chance.

Ok, so I take a lot of pictures....
I don't think she's quite ready to walk, but she didn't seem to mind the exercise. She has also been enjoying the Hoopy Loopy Cow, a gift from my friend JoAnn Adams.

Long Weekend!
March 23rd was our Anniversary, and work was closed for Good Friday, so I took Wednesday and Thursday off from work to spend with Emma and Susan. I wish I got to spend that much time at home more often. I did get to take a buch of pictures, a few of which are below. We also took some pictures outside with Susan and Emma together, but I have not had time to process them yet. Hopefully I will get to them this week. We could tell that Emma was not used to the bright sun. We had to work hard to find a spot where she didn't squint, but we think we got some good ones.

Busy!!
It's been a busy couple of weeks for us. On March 13, 2005 (Nannie's Birthday) we went to Jackie's (Emma's first trip to the South Shore) for the St. Patrick's Day parade. (We didn't actually make it to the parade route though.) On March 19th we made it back to Metairie for Nannie's 80th Birthday party. Thanks to Dana for doing such a good job putting it together.
On March 18th Emma went for a checkup. She is now 22.5 inches long and weighs 10 lbs. and 7 oz. She was also diagnosed with her first cold. She seems to be doing fine now though.
